Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data BabyLog collects, why, and your rights. We try to keep this short. If anything is unclear, email support@babylog.ai.
Who we are
BabyLog is operated by 2ndwave Studio ("we", "us", "our").
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Services.
Account information
When you sign up, we collect:
- An identifier — an email address or phone number, depending on region and sign-in method.
- A profile — a nickname (auto-generated if you don't set one), and an optional avatar, bio, language, and timezone.
- If you sign in with a third-party provider (Apple, Google, WeChat), we receive a user identifier from that provider. We do not receive your password.
Family and child information
You add information about your family and child(ren), which may include:
- Family name, members, and each member's relation to the child.
- Child's name, gender, birth date, premature status, and an optional photo.
This information is provided by you, the parent or guardian. See our Children's Information Notice.
Activity records
The core of BabyLog. You log events about your child:
- Feeding, sleep, diaper, growth, medications, vaccinations, food, allergies, photos, free-text notes, and similar.
- Photos you choose to attach.
- Timestamps and any tags or labels you add.
AI Coach interactions
If you use AI Coach, we store your messages and the AI's replies so you can resume the conversation.
Payment information
If you subscribe to BabyLog Pro:
- Payments are processed by Apple. We do not see or store your card details.
- We receive a transaction record from Apple, which we use to grant or revoke Pro features.
Device and usage information
For security, debugging, and product improvement, we automatically collect:
- IP address (logged for sign-in and security).
- Device model, OS version, app version, language, timezone.
- Push notification tokens, if you enable push.
- Crash reports and error logs.
- Anonymous usage events (which screens were viewed, which features were used). We do not include the content of your records in these events.
Communications
If you email support, we keep that correspondence so we can help you in the future.
Why we collect it
- To provide the Services to you and your family members.
- To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
- To process subscriptions and grant Pro features.
- To send you transactional messages (verification codes, account notices, push you opted into).
- To diagnose bugs and improve the Services.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, and we do not show third-party ads inside BabyLog.
AI features
BabyLog uses AI for features like the AI Coach, growth insights, and assisted event entry. When you use these features, your message or photo is processed by AI service providers we contract with. Our agreements prohibit these providers from using your content to train their models.
Photos and camera
You may grant the app access to your camera and photo library to attach photos to records or to set avatars. Permission is optional; the app works without it. Photos you select are uploaded so they are available to your invited family members across devices.
Notifications
If you opt into push notifications, we send you reminders, family activity updates, and account messages. You can disable push at any time in your OS or in-app Settings.
Sharing of information
We share information only when necessary:
- With family members you invite. Activity records and child information are shared with members of the same family.
- With service providers that help us run the Services (cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, push notifications, AI providers, payments). They process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- With authorities, when required by valid legal process.
- In case of a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different policy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Where your data is stored
- International edition (babylog.ai): data is stored on infrastructure located outside mainland China.
- Mainland China edition (baogaomami.com): data is stored on infrastructure located in mainland China.
The two editions operate independently and do not share user data.
How long we keep it
- While your account is active: we keep your data so the Services work for you.
- If you delete an event: it is removed within 30 days from active systems and within 90 days from backups.
- If you delete your account: all your data is removed within 30 days from active systems and within 90 days from backups, except where we must retain certain records to comply with the law (for example, billing records).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — most of it is visible in the app; for a full export, email us.
- Correct inaccurate data — most fields are editable in-app.
- Delete your account and data, from in-app Settings or by emailing us.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@babylog.ai. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you have additional rights under those laws, including the right to data portability and to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest, and we limit who can access production systems. See our Security Overview. No system is perfectly secure; if we detect a breach affecting you, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
Children
BabyLog is intended for parents and guardians (18+). Children do not create accounts. Information about children is provided by adults. See Children's Information Notice.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we update the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you via the app or email.
